After 20 Years in the Air Force I decided it was time to stop having so much fun and go to work.  I love to golf, I just wish I was better at it.  I love to go out and just hit that sucker HARD then I go look for it, and if I find it, I hit it again!

I learned to play golf out of fear um enjoyment for my dad.  I hated the game at the time but it was the only way I ever got the chance to talk to him.  He played almost everyday, rain or shine.  One year I took him to Myrtle Beach for a full week of golf as a birthday present.  I learned a lot.  He showed me I was lunging at the ball.  How he showed me was he put a club out in front of my head then as I took a swing I would lunge and hit my head!  (he had to do it because I was arguing with him that I was not lunging)  What a guy!  The very next day we went to the driving range and he gave me a new driver that he said would be better for me to use than the one I had before.  I practiced a little then WHAM! I hit The Most Perfect Drive I had ever seen.  It was a perfect little draw and flew almost 300 yards (well according to the yardage signs anyway)  My dad looked at me and said “Gotcha!”  you are now bitten by the bug.  I asked what do you mean?  He said “you will be looking to hit that shot again for the rest of your golfing career.”

Well he was right!  I am hooked and I have yet to repeat that perfect shot ;)   But I will keep trying!  Oh you betcha!  I don’t get out as much as I would like and I really need to take some serious lessons.  But I am getting a new business off the ground now and maybe next year I can hit the links again every week.

Here’s to you, may God grant you the joy of good friends and great golf days!

(hey we need something to lie about!)
